
Andrea Vela
Andrea was born and raised in Pharr, Texas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Brown University in 2013, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Boston University School of Law in 2018.
Prior to law school, Andrea served in the Teach for America - Rio Grande Valley 2013 Corps as a middle school teacher. During law school, she continued to work toward educational equity for marginalized students by interning with the Massachusetts Appleseed Center for Law and Justice homeless youth legislative project and advocating for the rights of immigrant students in the Boston Public Schools.
